Radio Playouts
mAirList visual radio integration
Show the current song and what comes next from mAirList. Visual Radio Assist reads its logging export to update your graphics as items start and stop.
How mAirList and VRA work together.
Now playing on screen
Link graphic fields to the title and artist supplied by mAirList. They update as the logging export reaches VRA.
The next four items
The data template carries the next four items, so an upcoming song or the next block can be on screen before it plays.
Triggers on the right item
Item type, duration and cue-in travel with every post, so a graphic can fire for a song and stay off for a jingle.
The feed connects in the studio
mAirList posts to the VRA Core app on the studio network. Only the resulting state syncs to VRA Cloud.
How to set it up.
Requirements
- mAirList with the logging HTTP POST action.
- The VRA Core app reachable from the mAirList machine on port 3002.
In VRA Cloud, open Settings, Advanced, Automations, add mAirList, enable it and copy the API endpoint and the data template.
In the mAirList Control Panel, open Logging and add a new HTTP POST with that URL, the parameter vra and the data template as its value. Set it to execute when starting and stopping an item.
Start an item in mAirList and check that VRA shows it as now playing.
mAirList questions
Which mAirList data reaches VRA? +
The current item and the next four: ID, title, artist, duration, start time, item type, comment and cue-in, exactly as the VRA data template lists them.
Does the link need a mAirList script? +
No. It uses the HTTP POST logging action built into mAirList, with a data template you copy from VRA Cloud.
Can VRA show the next item? +
Yes. The template includes the next four items, so a coming-up graphic can show what plays after the current song.
Where does mAirList send now-playing data? +
mAirList posts to VRA Core on your studio network. Core then shares the resulting now-playing state with VRA Cloud for browser control and monitoring.
