PowerStudio visual radio integration
Show the current song and upcoming items from PowerStudio in your radio graphics. Its VisualRadioAssist Link plugin sends the playlist information to VRA as the show runs.

Now playing without retyping
The plugin sends artist, title, duration, timestamp and item type for the playing item and the selected number of upcoming items.
Graphics follow the item type
Use the fields your feed supplies to control graphics. Where item type or category is available, you can show different visuals for songs, jingles and commercials.
The VRA link is a PowerStudio plugin
Configuration stays inside PowerStudio's plugin settings. The plugin posts each update to the endpoint generated by the VRA connection.
The link stays local
VRA Core reads the automation feed in the studio, through the connection described below. It shares the resulting now-playing information with VRA Cloud.
How to set it up.
Requirements
- A PowerStudio installation that includes the VisualRadioAssist Link Plugin.
- VRA Core reachable from the PowerStudio workstation on the studio network.
- The endpoint copied from the PowerStudio connection screen in VRA.
In VRA, add a PowerStudio automation connection and copy the endpoint shown on the setup screen.
In PowerStudio, open Options, Settings, Plugins and select VisualRadioAssist Link Plugin.
Enable the plugin, paste the VRA endpoint and choose how many upcoming rundown items to send. The default is five.
Add the optional machine identifier when several PowerStudio workstations report to the same environment.
Save the plugin settings and confirm in VRA that a current item and upcoming list arrive.
PowerStudio questions
How many upcoming PowerStudio items can VRA receive? +
The plugin setting controls the number sent with each update. Five is the default, and you can change it to suit the graphics or automation workflow.
What is the machine identifier for? +
It distinguishes PowerStudio workstations when more than one machine sends metadata into the same VRA environment. It is optional for a simple single-machine setup.
Does VRA change the PowerStudio rundown? +
No. The connection is read-only from VRA's point of view. Your radio automation remains the source of the rundown and VRA reacts to the data it sends.
Does the now-playing feed depend on the internet? +
The connection between your radio automation and VRA Core runs locally. VRA Cloud uses an internet connection to show that information in the browser; a local feed does not make browser control available offline.
